Checklist for New Home Buyers
1. New Home Buyers should have a Realtor with them when ever they visit model homes for the first time.
New Home agents represent the builder, not the buyer. Their interest ends when you sign the contract. You should have an agent with experience in building, who will follow up on the construction of your new home every step of the way.
2. The first item for a new buyer to consider is always location.
The direction the house faces, the distance to stores, your job, the children's school all effect your daily life.
3. The number of bedrooms needed for the family.
4. The size of the yard that is needed for the family pets.
5. Who will serve as YOUR on-site building inspector during construction.
We recommend that you secure the services of a licensed building inspector to do three inspectors during the construction of your new home. At the foundation, the framing and the final inspection.
6. How will you select the builder that you will use for your new home.
We suggest you look at as many different floor plans and models as possible before you decide what builder that you will use.
7. Value of your home is more then price.
The resale value of your home will be based on more then price. Besure and look at the features that you would look at if you were buying a used home. Ceiling fans in most rooms, extra insulation, upgraded windows.
